Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between UEH College of Economics, Law and Government and Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC

On the morning of May 11th, 2022, at the Room B1-204, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG-UEH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC for the period of 2022 - 2027. This cooperation is to advance the training quality of Customs Management - Foreign Trade major of School of Public Finance that helped students expand their practical knowledge and approach better career opportunities.

Attending the signing ceremony, in terms of CELG-UEH, were Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG, Assoc. Prof. Diep Gia Luat - Vice Dean in-charge of School of Public Finance, lecturers, and students of CELG-UEH. Representing Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha - General Director.

The overview of the ceremony

Delivering the opening speech of the ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG shared: “In October 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City officially launched the restructuring strategy that oriented UEH to a multidisciplinary and sustainable university in the period of 2021 - 2030. In accordance with that, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) was established to attain the mission of training high-quality human resources able to identify and solve issues in the fields of economics, law, and government that are complex, multidisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary in the global and regional scale as well as Vietnam. In addition to academic and realistic scientific research activities for regions, short-term training courses, consultancy, policy review, local technology transfer, international relations in affiliation with training and exchanging teachers and students, scientific research, international conference, and so on, which aim to sustainable development. CELG always focuses on affiliation with corporates in i) Cooperating in designing curricula, fostering, and developing human resources, ii) Collaborating on scientific research and consultancy, and iii) Cooperating in organizing conferences, conventions, economic columns, scientific seminars, providing, and discussing information with the aim of responding to the demands of the regional, domestic, and global market. Today, I am very delighted with the cooperation with Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC”.

Within the framework of the program, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Assoc. Prof. Diep Gia Luat, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha discussed intensively contents on student cooperation activities listed as realistic study activities affiliated with ICD ports in the TCSG system, practical courses on import and export, customs declaration, enterprise semester, training through the Transportation Control System (TCS). At the same time, other related activities were also recommended listed as cooperating in organizing workshops, reporting in seminars, assessing graduates and masters, and admission and program consultancy.

On behalf of the Board of Management of CELG, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG - suggested solutions and the detail of cooperative opinions in the future to STC listed as cooperating in the activities of teaching, curricula design, profession observation and orientation organization, collaborative methods for promoting the practicality of the curricula and advancing English competence of students in the field of logistics.

In the spirit of unity, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government - School of Public Finance and Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding MOU. The cooperation contents were conducted to advance the training quality of the Customs Management - Foreign Trade major in particular and were also the conditions affirming the development of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) in general. Together with that, the cooperation expansion with a corporate including intensive training activities in the field of exploiting ports, sea services, and logistics like Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC was an opportunity for students to upgrade their realistic knowledge and lecturers to update new market tendencies.

Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC is a special training center in Vietnam providing short-term courses in the fields of seaport, marine, transportation, and logistics. Established and developed based on the long-lasting and strongly potential cooperation between Saigon Newport Cooperation (1989), Vietnam, and STC Group, the Netherlands (operating in Vietnam since 1993), combining with the realistic and highly applicable teaching methodology and modern simulation systems transferred from the Netherlands. Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC organized those courses and granted nationally valid certificates for thousands of students and laborers at all levels working in the field of sea transportation, which has basically been a rapidly developing field in Vietnam.

On the basis of the cooperation contents, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) will continue to implement training programs in affiliation between the College and Human Resources Development Limited Company - STC in the upcoming time. Hopefully, this cooperation relationship will bring practical benefits to the two sides in the future and contribute more to the socio-economic development of the country.
