Diverse meaningful activities for students in 23rd Ho Chi Minh City Internship and Employment Day in 2021

During 2 days of December 25th and 26th, 2021, “Ho Chi Minh City Internship and Employment Day. Ho Chi Minh City 2021 - UEH VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR 2021” was conducted with various interesting activities: workshops, seminars, online recruitment activities, talk-shows, consultancy and so on, attracting nearly 40 leading employers. and more than 200 positions corresponding to 2000 employees, through 36 virtual reality booths in the form of direct and online combination on many application platforms suitable to the current epidemic context. The festival aims at career orientation, cultivating practical integration skills for students and is an opportunity for businesses to find young human resources and potential candidates.

With the sharing from Ms. Vi Thi Yen Binh - Head of Talent Recruitment Department of Masan Group, this workshop attracted the participation of more than 600 students. With her dedication and enthusiasm, Speaker Yen Binh helped attendees to know how to prepare application documents, to be psychologically prepared and know the secret to conquering employers through the ability to answer interviews and become the most perfect candidate in front of the employer.

In order to create a healthy and useful playground for students before graduation to apply the knowledge they have learned into practice, concurrently, to show bravery in front of employers, especially in front of Contest Judges as follows: Mr. Tran Hoai Phuong, Head of Corporate Banking Division - HD Bank; Mr. Le Xuan Hau, Head of Legal-Human Resources Department of Khai Anh Binh Thuan Company; Mr. Than Trung Liet, Director of Nguyen Huu Canh Transaction Office, SSI Securities Company; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Advisor to Human Resources Department of CT group; Phan Quoc Tan, Head of Human Resource Management Department, Faculty of Business Administration UEH. With an extremely suspenseful and thrilling atmosphere among experts, powerful recruiters and 11 best contestants, nearly 800 students were interested in watching and supporting Top 11 and came to share. In the final round, the remaining 3 teams really shined and left many impressions on the judges and the audience with their convincing and equally unique and creative presentations showing UEH students’ right spirit. In the end, Team FORTUNA, as students from Faculty of International Business - Marketing UEH, conquered the contest and brought final WINNER position.

In accordance with Dr. Dao Le Hoa An’s sharing - Strategic Director of Center for Psychological Science and Career Application, “Building your personal brand - Key towards success for Generation Z” workshop orients and helps attendees build their image as ‘proper’, ‘different’ and ‘outstanding’ in the free economy so as to overcome media limitations for grabbing opportunities from reputable employers. With the content focusing on the interest of the young workforce - Gen Z, the program has attracted nearly 900 participants from students, trainees and alumni inside and outside the school. Through the program, attendees of Generation Z will understand the importance of building a personal brand, especially in this digital age, from which, they should prepare to build personal prestigious, reliable, professional ‘profile’ right from the start on his/her career journey.

Online recruitment and interview activities at enterprises’ online kiosks are carried out on the platform //event.cixiu99.com/, here, attendees will experience the online interview form through Microsoft Teams platform for connecting with top businesses. When clicking on these kiosks, candidates that have access to a lot of information in terms of company and recruitment are transferred to online meeting rooms and have the opportunity to interview with employers. With the small room division function, candidates are interviewed face-to-face and demonstrate their capabilities to the employer. What is more important, 2 webinars as: “Customer Development - Starting a Million Dollar Business Management career” from Unilever and “Banking - Present & Future” from HDBank brought students massive knowledge and interesting experiences. The fact that online recruitment and interview activities at 36 kiosks have attracted nearly 2,000 potential candidates for businesses opened up uncountable career opportunities for UEH students in general and non-UEH students from other universities and colleges as well as young human resources in Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

“Generation Z - Successfully integrating into the labor market” Talk-show

With the purpose of providing attendees with a multi-dimensional view of recruitment trends and necessary skills that can be quickly adapted to labor market with the sharing from: Dr. Dinh Tien Minh - Head of Marketing Department, Faculty of International Business - Marketing, UEH Business School; Dr. Phan Quoc Tan - Head of Human Resource Management Department, Faculty of Management, UEH Business School; Mr. Trinh Hoai Vien - Deputy General Director of Khai Anh Binh Thuan Company; Ms. Bui Thuy Kieu Anh - Head of Training and Development Department of Shopee Company; Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - 4th year student at UEH, this talkshow has brought a lot of useful knowledge, special working opportunities, consolidating the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes for Gen Z - the young generation so as to succeed and integrate well into the labor market, especially in the context of being affected by Covid-19 as well as the consequences and the opportunities that the pandemic has brought to the market.

Career counseling Program, “Being confident before Employers” mock interview with UEH lecturers and experts

This activity aims to create opportunities for attendees to receive in-depth career advice and resolve questions before entering an important milestone in life; concurrently, attendees can also experience recruitment interviews with human resources experts from businesses. Through this, attendees will be given advice on interviewing skills to draw the necessary experience for himself/herself when attending a job interview later under the guidance of: MSc. Le Thanh Nhan - Vice Dean of Faculty of Economics, School of Economics, Law and State Management UEH; MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Head of General Department of UEH School of Technology - Design; MSc. Nguyen Quoc Nam - Faculty of International Business, UEH Business School and Mr. Bui Sinh Vien - Head of HR and Recruitment Partnership Department, Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company. The program, in nearly 4 hours of organization, attracted nearly 700 candidates. Combining perspectives from schools and businesses, consultants helped students orient their careers as well as gave suggestions to help participants improve interview skills and find the right choice on their upcoming career path.

“Experiences regarding writing CV and answering interviews in English” English Zone activity

This activity aims to help students improve their CV writing skills in English language as well as gain additional experiences when interviewing in foreign companies and multi-national enterprises. The activity was consulted and shared by Ms. Le Thu Hong - Head of Talent Recruitment Department, Vietnam Suntory Pepsico. Through this activity, the participants partly understood what employers evaluate candidates regarding reading CVs as well as conducting interviews. Along with, how to get the outstanding CVs as well as personal preparation to be confident with any business interview question are presented. With attractive content with numerous opportunities open to work with multinational corporations, the activity has attracted nearly 700 attendees. The activity ended with an exchange with experts and together discussing the seemingly difficult issues for young candidates, like: experience, salary and bonus issues, promotion opportunities and so on towards applying at one enterprise.
