World speakers joined the UEH-NTU workshop on university governance: Special issues on QS ranking

On 19th - 20th February 2019, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City co-operated with the Nanyang Technological University to host an experience-sharing workshop over the topic of university governance, international ranking. The Nanyang Technological University is one of the world successful universities, ranked 12th position in the QS World University Ranking. Hence, this workshop will be a forum for UEH lecturers and teachers to approach, share and exchange regulations in ranking methods, research methodologies, human resource management…in order to provide support for UEH in putting its name on these international ranking over the next few years.

The workshop proudly welcomed Prof. Naoyuki Yoshino - Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and Prof. Mehmet Huseyin Bilgin - Vice Director of Eurasia Business and Economics - Vice President of Eurasia Business & Economics Society (EBES). On the side of NTU, there was Prof. Euston Quah - Head of Economics, Prof. Jonathan Tan - Director of the Center for Research in the Behavioral Sciences, Mrs. Angela Sau Ting Lim - Senior Advisor President's Office; Mr.Hee Kim Poh - Director of Institutional Research. On the UEH’s side, there was Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - President; Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President, Prof. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut - Vice President along with dean and vice dean from other departments, faculties, institutes and different subjects of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

At the workshop, many international accredited speakers gave presentations and discussions. At the same time, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City also participated to present discussions over strategy and plan for the international ranking record, as well as attract a number of excellent researchers for the university.

In addition, Prof. Mehmet Huseyin Bilgin congratulated that UEH had just become a member of Eurasia Business & Economics Society (EBES) and Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - President of UEH had appointed as a member of a member of the Advisory Board of EBES.
