In the morning of Nov 28, 2016, at 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Campus, Unversity of Economics Hochiminhcity (UEH), Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA Partnership) organized a training course on Spatial Econometrics with Applications in Environmental and Resource Economics guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phu of French National Centre for Scientific Research - CNRS.
The course was attended by some distinguished guests such as Dr. Hermina Francisco - Director of the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA), Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Vice Dean, School of Economics, UEH, Director of EEPSEA Partnership; together with 32 researchers from many countries in the ASEAN region.
The training course took place in three days with the following aims of:
- Providing researchers with new quantitative tools essential for analysing various issues related to environment and natural resources accounted by economics combined with spatial features; and
- Covering the fundamental theory and methods in spatial econometrics and providing detailed applications to several economic issues, especially in environmental economics (environmental Kuznets curve, environmental convergence, environmental valuation, etc.)
