The Press Conference introduces "Vietnam Economic Prospects 2014" and the UEH’s new programs
In the morning of April 23rd 2014, at Hall A103 (59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized a meeting to announce a new publication "Vietnam Economic Prospects 2014" and introduce new training programs.
More than 30 journalists from different newspapers, national and local television channels attended the meeting; Heads and Deputy Heads of several units of the UEH and all lecturers, written in this book. The organizers included the UEH’s President Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong, the UEH’s Vice President Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai, the UEH’s Head of Research Management and International Cooperation Department Assoc. Prof. Ho Viet Tien, the UEH’s Head of Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Pham Duy Nghia, and the UEH’s Dean of School of Government Dinh Cong Khai.
Below is the main contents announced by the UEH and answered the questions of journalists:
The document "Vietnam Economic Prospects 2014: Institutions and Transparency" is the annual report of the UEH. The report mentioned several fields and policies in macroeconomics, finance – banking, economic industries, as well as institutional and law aspects in economics and business. Due to their broad scale, the UEH only mentioned highlight issues in each area. The focus of 2014 is institutional reforms so the report was concentrated in "Institution and Transparency".
The Master Degree in Economic Law (UEH–LLM): is designed for legal services in managing Modern Corporation. The course duration is 2 years and concentrated in company laws, property laws, contract laws, intellectual property, competing and resolving economic disputes. Graduates from Law Bachelors with 1 year of experience and good graduating results can apply immediately. There are 3 test subjects: Foreign Language, Civil Laws and Commercial Laws.
The Master Degree in Public Management (UEH–MPM): is designed for people who are working or planning to work in public area or non-profit organization with 2 years course length. UEH-MPM aims to provide students knowledge of economics, laws and management in public area such as Economics Study in Public Area, Law and Public Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Marketing, Urban Management... Potential students include university graduates in Economics and Business Management. With good graduating results, they can apply immediately. There are 3 test subjects: Economics, Economic Mathematics and Foreign Language.
The Master in Executive Business Administration: is designed in improving knowledge, skills in basic analysis, critical thinking, strategy forming and effective leadership in management and execution for businessman, senior managers at groups, companies, organization and government department, in order to create significant achievement for themselves and their companies or organizations or becoming specialists of this field in the future.
Besides, the Ministry of Education and Training agreed for UEH to offer 3 new majors Marketing, International Business and English.
