In the morning of July 31, 2017, at 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Campus, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh city (UEH) and OCB (Orient Commercial Bank) held the opening ceremony introducing the Payment Portal to provide more benefits for students.
Attending the event, on the OCB's side, there was Mr. Truong Dinh Long – Vice president along with leaders and staff. Representing UEH, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Vice President along with leaders and staff.
The Portal (www.payment.cixiu99.com) is one of cooperation agreements between UEH and OCB in the period of 2016-2021 in order to diversify and utilize payment methods for the UEH’s students. By using this Portal, UEH students can make all payment transactions with UEH via ATM, Visa, Mastercard or bank account from different banks anywhere and anytime without any further expenses. The Portal is also integrated with UEH student credit systems (bachelor, master and doctor level) to facilitate credit registering and payment process through this Portal. Moreover, by using the Portal, UEH is aiming for a higher level in terms of university management, especially in accounting and finance. It is UEH that has become one of the first universities in Vietnam using this payment method.
Delivering a speech at this event, Ms. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet emphasized and expressed appreciation for OCB supporting the connection between UEH and other banks to implement transactions in the Payment Portal. Moreover, OCB has sponsored all payment fees in the first six months of transaction activities in this Portal and negotiated with partners to decrease the cost. This is one of the prerequisites to enhance benefits for students at the highest level.
On the OCB’s side, Mr. Truong Dinh Long affirmed that this was the first online payment project for tuition fees through banks systems. This milestone enables UEH to reduce workload in tuition fees submission season and builds the professional image of UEH. For UEH, it is flexible for UEH‘s students to pay anytime and anywhere as long as they have a bank account and device connected to the Internet. For society, the Portal facilitates payment by credit card instead of cash.
