On the morning of February 14, 2023, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with District 7 (HCMC) and Seocho District (Seoul City, South Korea). This cooperation was towards the goal of training high-quality human resources, serving the needs of socio-economic development of the districts in particular and the country in general, and at the same time, contributing to developing the relationship between Vietnam - Korea.
Attending the signing ceremony on the side of Seocho District, Korea, there were: Mr. Jun SungSoo - Chairman of Seocho District; Mr. Choi Myunghwan - Deputy Head of Education, Training & Sports Department; Mr. Kim Seunghyun - Head of Water Resources Management Department; Mr. Yum Jong Won - Head of Administrative Support Department; together with a delegation of civil servants and experts from the departments of the district.
On the side of the People's Committee of District 7, Ho Chi Minh City were Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 7; Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 7, Chairman of the People's Committee of District 7; Mr. Nguyen Dang Thoai – Member of Standing Committee of District Party Committee District 7, Chief of Office of District Party Committee District 7; Mr. Pham Hong Loc - District Member, Chief of Office of District 7 People's Committee.
From the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City was Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategic and Policy Advisory Council; Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President; Mr. Truong Quoc Hung - Deputy General Director of Phu My Hung Co., Ltd., Member of UEH University Council; together with leaders of member colleges and UEH departments.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH said: “The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is very pleased to meet the delegation from Seocho District (Seoul City, Korea) and leaders of District 7 (HCMC) to discuss cooperation opportunities between UEH, Seochu District and District 7. This cooperation marks an important milestone in strengthening the relationship between the University and the two partners. As one of the key national universities in training, research, and teaching in economics and business, established in 1976, UEH is currently focusing on becoming a multidisciplinary university with an academic reputation in the region and the world, with the orientation of sustainable development. Therefore, in addition to constantly improving the quality of training, the University always promotes international cooperation activities, applied research, innovation, knowledge transfer, research, and policy consultation for localities, and at the same time, diversifies fields of cooperation in culture, art, tourism, and sports in order to improve the quality of life for people. After 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the relationship between Vietnam and Korea has continuously developed comprehensively and outstandingly in all aspects. With today's cooperation, the University is expected to contribute to the general development of society, for the development of HCMC in general, and also for the development of District 7 in terms of human resource training, socio-economic development strategies, research on technology transfer,... We also wish to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Seocho District in areas such as administration, culture, art, education, training, tourism, physical training, sports, and environment ... on friendship and equality. I believe this will be a good start, contributing to strongly promoting innovation and development, promoting the long-term cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea, and creating many opportunities for the two sides to learn and share experiences. In particular, this will create opportunities for students and lecturers to participate in cultural experiences, continuously improve their academic qualifications and promote understanding and friendship between Vietnam and Korea.”

Sharing about the cooperation with UEH this time, Mr. Jun SungSoo - Chairman of Seocho District said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for welcoming the Seocho District delegation. Today is a very meaningful day when the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Seocho District come together to form a partnership in the future. 2023 is the 31st anniversary of the Vietnam-Korea relationship, and at the same time, the 7th anniversary of the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul. Hopefully, today's cooperation will be an opportunity for us to share, exchange, and learn from each other's development experiences, thereby continuing to promote the friendship between the two countries."

As for cooperation in human resource training, District 7 may be the first district to collaborate deeply with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. On this occasion, I would like to thank the University Council, the leadership, and the teachers who have supported District 7 a lot in the district's human resource training program."
