UEH Shares Open Cultural and Educational Spaces with the Community

Aiming to be more than just a center for training and developing skilled professionals, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has a crucial role in preserving and promoting the community’s cultural and historical values. UEH has opened various spaces to the public, where people can experience the university’s unique architecture, natural landscapes, and both traditional and innovative spaces. These open areas provide a rich environment that fosters creativity, cultural exchange, and community connection, enhancing UEH’s role as a bridge between education and societal heritage.

UEH E-History Room – Where Tradition Meets Modern Technology

The UEH E-History Room is a high-tech space with modern technology, including touchscreens, holograms, and an interactive sound and lighting system. Visitors can freely explore and learn about UEH’s history, traditions, and development directions. The E-History space is divided into three main areas:

  • Zone A – UEH Tradition: Visitors can interact with and view images and videos introducing the university’s history, achievements, and activities in training and research.
  • Zone B – Milestones in UEH’s Development: Showcasing significant artifacts and historical events through hologram technology, allowing viewers to experience key moments in the university’s history as well as major developments in Vietnam and the world.
  • Zone C – Honoring UEH Values: This area features video presentations about the university, highlights VIP guests, and introduces prominent events happening at UEH's Campus A.

The UEH E-History Digital Heritage Room is an ideal destination for those who enjoy exploring history and discovering the innovations UEH is implementing to drive sustainable development.

UEH MakerSpace – A Boundless Creative Hub
Located at 279 Nguyễn Tri Phương, UEH MakerSpace is an open innovation space for students and the community passionate about design, assembly, and woodworking. UEH MakerSpace is designed with an open, airy layout, comprising two main areas:

  • Indoor Area: Equipped with machinery, tools, and materials to support the creative process.
  • Outdoor Area: Featuring woodworking tables for hands-on activities and standard tables for various other student projects.

In partnership with Papa Maker, UEH regularly holds short training courses and workshops, providing students with opportunities to develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.

Innovation Spaces at UEH and the Vinh Long Branch 

In 2023, alongside serving students, staff, and experts, UEH has generously shared its halls free of charge with partners for community-focused events. For example, UEH supports Tuoi Tre Newspaper by lending the A.116 hall for the career guidance program "Accompanying Children to School" and the "Wings of Dream" talk show, which promotes sustainable entrepreneurship and fosters creativity among students.

Furthermore, UEH offers creative and development spaces for organizations and individuals finding places for events, training sessions, meetings, and conferences at affordable rates, providing a high-quality experience in central Ho Chi Minh City locations. The 2023 “Creative and Development Space Sharing” initiative organized 27 hall and meeting room rentals at the A, B, N, and V campuses for various partners, including Like Lion Co., ILACS, ISB, An Binh Bank, ACCA's HCMC office, Yaho Lab Co., Misa JSC, P2P Media Co., and other clients.

In addition, after comprehensive renovations, the Vinh Long Branch has emerged as a learning and innovation hub, with modern facilities like smart classrooms, a digital library, and co-working spaces. The Mekong Delta Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (MCIE) at the branch is also open to the public, inviting participation in forums, workshops, and networking with the local startup community. This strategic move strengthens UEH's mission to disseminate knowledge and support the development of the Mekong Delta region.
