UEH organizing Graduation Day 2022 for more than 4,200 New Graduates in the “New Normal” Condition

On 19^th and 20^th, March 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized UEH Graduation Day 2022 for more than 4,200 students of the Full-time, 2^nd Degree, Transferring and Part-time Modes in the new normal condition. This Graduation Day was held in a green and modern ground of Nguyen Tri Phuong Campus that connected with lots of memories of UEHers during their studying time at UEH. This was a special Graduation Day first time held in accordance with a new format and space so as to respond to Covid-19-prevention requirements in the new normal while assuring the solemnity of a large ceremony for participants.

University graduation is a particularly meaningful milestone in a person’s life, which is of accomplishing the studying process to start a new journey. However, a long time of implementing social distancing delayed the process of organizing this graduation ceremony and issuing degrees for UEH students. Understanding the desire of students to a graduation day to mark a milestone and record significant pictures and moments as well as beautiful memories of students’ time beside their friends, relatives, and family, UEH planned to hold the UEH Graduation Day 2022.

This Day was held in an open space of the whole Campus B - 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong to respond to the request of preventing the Covid-19 pandemic while assuring its solemnity with a variety of meaningful and interesting activities.

Delivering a speech to congratulate New Graduates, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh, President of UEH shared: “The new graduates have just completed their journey on studying, collecting knowledge and skills to overcome so many challenges and difficulties, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. You will continue to promote the spirit of creativeness, bravery, and enthusiasm of an active and flexible UEHer in all scenarios, who catch opportunities and master the future to live better for themself and their family, contributing to the community and society. You will be equipped sufficiently with necessary knowledge and skills, particularly English, to enter the domestic and international labor market”.

Among more than 4,200 UEH New Graduates graduating in 2021 and the beginning of 2022, there were 3,757 students of regular full-time, transferring, and 2^nd-degree students and 561 part-time students, in which, 06 students graduated with high distinction, 844 graduating with distinction and 2,464 graduating with credit.

UEH Graduates satisfied all requirements of computing skills listed as IC3 Computing Certificate. In terms of English skills, depending on different majors, a minimum of TOEIC 500 or above was requested. Only in high-quality undergraduate program, UEH Graduates must participate in conducting scientific research, going for corporate internship programs, and so on.

This year is also the first year that new majors/ specializations have graduating students listed as Business Tax, Customs Administration - Foreign Trade, Financial Investment, Investment Banking, Enterprise Resource Planning System, International Business Law, Public Management. This is a testament to the efforts of UEH and student policies to be ready for international integration contributing to the economic development of the country.
