Attending the workshop on the side of UEH was the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - President of UEH, Dr. Tran Mai Dong - Head of Research Administration – International Cooperation Department, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Head of State Administration Department, Dr. Tú Anh Trinh - Director of Institute of Smart City and Management and scientists, leaders, and researchers. The workshop proudly welcomed the representatives of Ho Chi Minh city Institute for Development Studies, Department of Planning and Investment, Center for Socioeconomic Simulation and Forecast of Ho Chi Minh City, Center for Economic Development Studies, Hochiminh City Finance and Investment State-owned Company, Institute of Urban Construction Planning, Branch of the Institute of Construction Economics - Southern Vietnam, Institute of Development Strategy.

On the behalf of the research team, Dr. Tú Anh Trinh - Director of Institute of Smart City and Management, had a presentation on current issues of urbanization, urban economic development in the period 2011-2020, lessons learned from other countries such as New York, Singapore, Paris, Amsterdam, and SWOT analysis of urbanization process in Vietnam. Proposed solutions by the research team are integrated solutions to enhance sustainable urbanization and urban development through 2030, a vision towards 2045.

During the workshop, delegates shared and discussed their ideas on current issues and solutions for urban economic development in Ho Chi Minh City. Hopefully, with efforts of the research team and valuable contributions of the workshop delegates, the project “Urbanization and uran economic development in Vietnam through 2030, a vision towards 2045” organized by Central Economic Commission is successfully completed.
