Recently, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has been recognized for the results of the inspection of educational institutions and 05 training programs according to the FIBAA (Europe) international quality inspection standards. Together with the QS Asia Top 401+ ranking, this result is not only a testament to the quality of UEH's education and training but also a solid foundation on the journey to becoming a prestigious Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University in the region and the world.
University of Economics Ho Chi Minh, in the process of renewing the development strategy for the period of 2020-2025, with a vision to 2035, focuses mainly on quality assurance and accreditation at the educational institution level and training programs. The University continuously implements comprehensive quality management and activities related to training, scientific research, and service provision, at the same time, committed to providing the best products for society.
Following the successes in the period of 2015-2020 in terms of quality assurance and quality accreditation, in 2022 the university has actively developed the declaration of Self-Assessment at the educational institution level and the Self-Assessment of 05 training programs for Undergraduate programs including Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Business, Real Estate, and Accounting according to the European International Standard.
In August 2022, the University invited FIBAA (International Foundation for Business Administration Accreditation) to conduct an external assessment of 05 training programs and evaluate them outside the UEH Educational Institution. FIBAA experts interviewed UEH leaders, leaders of functional management units, Faculty leaders, Directors of training programs, lecturers, students, and alumni to appraise and evaluate objectively training programs and institutions based on the FIBAA quality assessment standards. Interview sessions were conducted on the principle of honesty, objectivity, and the right subjects, and met the regulations of FIBAA.
After the results of the external assessment, on November 30, 2022, the FIBAA Certification and Accreditation Committee met and agreed to the decision to accredit FIBAA standards for all 05 training programs and educational institutions for the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The certificate of FIBAA quality mark granted to the educational institution is valid from November 30, 2022, to November 29, 2028. The certificate of FIBAA quality mark granted to the Training Programs is valid from November 30, 2022, to November 29, 2027. In particular, UEH has achieved 34/36 evaluation criteria at the educational institution level with a rate of 94.4%. As of December 2022, UEH has had 9 training programs meeting European standards recognized by FIBAA. The university is also the first higher education institution in the country to achieve international accreditation for the Education institutions of FIBAA.
International FIBAA certification for accrediting educational institutions and 05 training programs of UEH
FIBAA is an inspection organization that operates around the world and uses European international testing standards and is recognized in many countries, including Vietnam. The FIBAA accreditation confirms that UEH's curriculum and institution-level accreditation have met the basic standards of the European higher education system. Based on European quality assessment standards, FIBAAA also makes recommendations for improvement for UEH in the near future to continue to improve the quality of university administration as well as training programs.
Thus, the success of the higher education quality examination according to European standards has affirmed UEH's position in training and providing high-quality human resources for the country, especially in the southern region. This success also shows the correctness of the University in its strategic policy to develop into a multidisciplinary, multi-field, and international research university. This is also the result of the active, creative, quality, and responsible work for learners and society, the consensus and synergy of all UEH staff over many generations. It is expected that in the inspection route of 2023 - 2025, UEH will test an average of 6 to 7 training programs per year according to FIBAA standards.
On the route of internationalization, UEH verifies that education quality inspection is a key task and regularly self-evaluates and improves quality in order to meet the educational quality inspection standards of reliable accrediting organizations in the country and the world.
