On the morning of April 27, 2021, at Room B1.204 (Campus B - Nguyen Tri Phuong), the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Pearson Education took place, aiming to improve the quality of training, especially in the field of English.
In order to further improve the quality of training, especially in the field of English, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City cooperates with Pearson Education to provide an English teaching and learning ecosystem, including training programs, resources, testing solutions, testing, and international top standard qualifications for students studying at UEH.
The signing ceremony was attended and witnessed by Ms. Emily Hamblin - British Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and her associates, Mr. Pham Dinh Phuong - General Director of the Cultural Development & Import-Export Joint Stock Company (CDIMEX). On the side of Pearson Education, there was the online participation of Ms. Sasha Hampson - Deputy General Director in charge of English Language Training and Testing, Asia-Pacific Region andMs. Do Thi Minh Nguyet - Chief Representative, Pearson Vietnam Office. On the side of UEH, there was the attendance of Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH President, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President with the leaders and faculty of the UEH School of Foreign Languages.
Specific areas of cooperation between the two sides include (1) Providing all UEH teachers and students with a rich and effective system of resources, teaching and learning materials, combining the model of offline and online learning using modern educational technologies, not only train English proficiency but also improve soft skills, career skills for students; (2) Developing and implementing an English proficiency test, assessment and test system using Pearson's advanced AI and high technology application solutions, including Versant Professional English Test and PTE Academic, as well as recognizing these certificates as equivalent to the entry and output standards of English proficiency for each training period at UEH; (3) Establishing and implementing a standardized training and retraining program for English teachers, including improving English proficiency, combining teaching skills and enhancing knowledge specialize.

At the ceremony, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH President made the opening speech: “I believe that the cooperation between UEH and Pearson will be successful and bring mutual benefits to learners, helping to improve English proficiency and career skills in order to meet the high requirements of the increasingly dynamic labor market and contribute to the prosperity of the country”.

Through signing, UEH and Pearson Education will undertake the creation, provision of a standardized training and professional development program for English teachers including English language proficiency and pedagogical skills, as well as providing a rich, high-quality teaching and learning resource system, applying advanced educational technology to teachers and students at UEH.
