UEH Banking Faculty in collaboration with G.A.P Institute to host “How to Build an Effective Relationship in Business”

With nearly 300 students in attendance, the workshop marked Banking Faculty’s first successful attempt at organizing an event on business relationship etiquette. In his opening keynote, MSc. Duong Tan Khoa – Deputy Head of Banking Faculty emphatically highlighted the importance of personal and professional relationships in one’s daily life after graduation. Per his remarks, the key to success lies partly in how each individual forms meaningful networks with their peers, professors, colleagues and professional partners.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Bui Khac Nam, Deputy Director of Talent Generation Program (UNESCO-CEP), with expertise in life coaching and skills training for students and the like. Additionally, the event also welcomed several distinguished guests: Mr. Tran Khoi Nguyen - Sale Manager of Cozrum, Leader of AIA Business Relations Group, Founder of Future Management Trainee (FMT); Ms. Cao Thi Thu Trang - Head of Brokerage Division for Individual Customers at ACB Securities LTD., (ACBS) and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai Nam - Founder of GreenLife, former Deputy Director of Phu Hung Securities Corporation.

The workshop gave great insights into how to create meaningful and long-lasting relationships. Speaker Bui Khac Nam also posed many interesting items for consideration on whether one knows the proper introductory etiquette, which could include but isn’t limited to, a proper handshake, the right positioning of name tags, and other daily interactive conducts, etc. Through the event and experts’ sharing, UEH students were found to become more confident in expressing themselves and strengthening their social network right from their college days.

The students also had the chance to practice “Networking” by conversing with five other participants in the auditorium to pose several substantial questions while attempting to leave proper impressions.  Dao Thi Ngoc Trang – K43 student spoke about her experience afterwards, stating that the session and especially Mr. Nam’s personal experience has boosted her confidence, and she hoped to be able to apply these beneficial tips into future job interviews.

On that note, the workshop “How to Build an Effective Relationship in Business” had come to a successful end. Not only was it able to provide great industrial knowledge to the students, the event also cultivated an open networking opportunity for all its participants.
