Opening of the UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees 2023

Towards celebrating the 47^th anniversary of the establishment of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (October 27, 1976 - October 27, 2023) and 41 years of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2023), on the morning of September 17, 2023, the UEH Union officially organized the opening of the UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees 2023 at Nguyen Van Linh Campus Sports Complex.

As an annual activity, the UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees aims to create a friendly, motivating and encouraging exchange environment to enhance physical fitness and build a cultural and healthy lifestyle among UEH officials and employees; at the same time, selecting excellent athletes to join the Union's sports teams.

Attending the opening ceremony were Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union, Head of the Organizing Committee; Dr. Phan Thi Bao Quyen - Vice President of UEH Union; MSc. Phan Thi Thu Hang - Standing Member of UEH Union, Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Son - Director of UEH Center of Physical Training, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, together with representatives of leaders and members of the Organizing Committee, Referee Teams, and numerous athletes participating in the competition.

Speaking at the opening of the Sports Festival, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of the Union - shared: "The sports festival is an activity that attracts a large number of union members from all affiliated union units; Especially in 2023, for the first time, the UEH Union included Marathon online running/walking in the contest content, which received enthusiastic response and participation, creating motivation for physical training of officials and employees, contributing to fulfilling the professional tasks of the School".

The UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees 2023 attracted athletes from 40 Union Units of Member Colleges, Schools, Departments, Institutes, Dormitories, and the Vinh Long Campus to register, with 7 sports including:

Men's mini soccer: 07:30 - 10:00 September 17 and 24, 2023, October 1 and 7, 2023 at Functional Area No. 15 Nguyen Van Linh campus.
Table tennis: singles - from 08:00 - 11:30 and doubles from 14:00 - 17:00 on September 30, 2023 on the 15^th floor, Building B1, Campus 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, District 10.
Chinese Chess: from 08:00 - 11:00, 14:00 - 17:00 on September 24, 2023 at Room A103, 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3.
Badminton singles - from 08:00 - 11:00, and doubles from 1:30 - 17:00 at Tinh Vo Sports Club, 756 Nguyen Trai, Ward 11, District 5.
Tug of War and Team Cooperation: From 07:30 - 09:30 on October 15, 2023 at Functional Area No. 15, Nguyen Van Linh campus.
Marathon Run/walk online: From September 17, 2023 to October 10, 2023.

Prizes of the Sports Festival include cups, flags, medals and cash for the First, Second, Third and movement positions.

The UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees 2023 to celebrate the 47^th anniversary of the establishment University and the 41^st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 is a healthy and useful playground to improve physical fitness and health; at the same time, it is also an opportunity for UEH officials and employees to exchange and tighten solidarity, contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks at UEH.

The university hopes that lecturers will enthusiastically participate in these activities to make the UEH Sports Festival for Officials and Employees 2023 an outstanding success!
