Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and KIS Vietnam Company Limited

On June 8, 2022, at the room A.205, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and KIS Vietnam Company Limited officially signed a cooperation agreement. This event is a milestone marking the good relationship between the two sides, accompanying the process of training high-quality human resources; at the same time, bringing practical values to society and the community through the program “Connecting the community - Spreading knowledge - Acting for Sustainability”.

Attending the signing ceremony, in terms of UEH, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Vice Head of UEH College of Business; MSc. Truong Minh Kiet - Head of Department of Marketing and Communication; MSc. Nguyen Van Duong - Head of Department of Student Affairs; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Head of General Department, UEH College of Business; Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of Department of Research Management - International Relations; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Dean of School of Finance, UEH College of Business; Dr. Hoang Hai Yen - Dean of School of Banking, UEH College of Business.

Representing KIS Vietnam Company Limited were the attendance of Mr. Jung Il Mun - CEO of KIS Korea; Mr. Kim Young Woo - Managing Director, Business Planning Unit; Mr. Park Han Jun - Assistant Manager; Mr. Park Won Sang - CEO of KIS Vietnam; Mr. Lee Hun Woo - Director, KIS Vietnam Operation/Retail Division; Ms. Nguyen Quynh Nga - Senior Manager, Risk Management Department; Mr. Vu Phi Hung - Assistant Manager, KIS Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh - Assistant Manager, KIS Vietnam.

With the attendance of the delegates and lecturers who are experts and employees of the departments affiliated with the 2 units; especially, the presence of 10 students honored to receive KIS scholarships in 2022.

On this signing ceremony occasion today, on behalf of UEH, I would like to thank the Board of Directors and staff of KIS Korea Corporation, KIS Vietnam Company Limited for their interest and companionship with us. We hope that KIS Company Limited will develop strongly and sustainably in the coming time and wish the close relationship between the two sides will reap much success.”

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is a place to nurture talented people to contribute to socio-economic development. I am also very happy and honored to award scholarships to outstanding students of UEH today, who will serve the country in the future. My starting point was the same as the students today, which was to complete my studies and become an employee, and after more than 30 years, I also had the opportunity to contribute to the company and hold the role of a general director of the corporation. My corporation always focuses on nurturing talents and centering people, today I am here and meet the lecturers who are always devoted to the career of education which makes me very happy. Through today's ceremony, I hope that UEH and KIS will have a long-term cooperation in the future and receive talented people and future owners of the country into positions in KIS Company Limited - one of the top financial corporations in Korea. I hope that the scholarships we are awarding today will be the courage to nurture the dreams of our students to reach a better future.”

In the spirit of unity, UEH and KIS Vietnam Company Limited officially signed a cooperation agreement with the following contents: Connecting training with practice, connecting to carry out research and projects, connecting to attract human resources, and the Giving to UEH program. In particular, in 2022 and 2023, KIS Vietnam Company Limited will contribute 10 scholarships (worth 20 million VND / student) per year to the “Giving to UEH” Fund to award 5 outstanding students and 5 excellent students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies.

KIS Vietnam Company Limited was established by Korea Investment and Securities Company Limited (KIS Korea) at the end of 2010. Over 11 years of operation in Vietnam, KIS Vietnam has received strong support from KIS Korea with experience in the field of finance and the integration with experts abroad with a team of staff with many years of experience in banking, auditing, and domestic capital markets. After 2 years of implementation, the program has received the companionship of various individuals, organizations, and UEH partners.

For those reasons, the signing of UEH and KIS Vietnam Company is not only a milestone marking the good relationship between the two sides but also a companion to bring practical knowledge values to society and the community.
