Following the results achieved in training program accreditation recently, recently, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to successfully audit 8 training programs in accordance with FIBAA standards, bringing UEH’s total number of European quality training programs to 13. This is UEH’s strong commitment to bringing to the best quality of education for learners in the context of having just officially become one of the 7 Multi-disciplinary and Multi-field Universities in Vietnam.
Training program accreditation is one mandatory requirement for Vietnamese higher education institutions. Accreditation results are not only an important basis to contribute to improvement, quality improvement and accountability demonstration but also one condition for autonomy practice of educational institutions.
With the internationalization strategy and the role of a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City defines education quality accreditation as one key task and regularly self-assesses and improves quality to meet the educational quality accreditation standards of reputable accreditation organizations in the country and the world. Therefore, UEH University has chosen FIBAA Education Quality Accreditation Organization (Federal Republic of Germany) as our partner for the 2020 – 2025 period. This accreditation organization has been operating widely around the world, using European international inspection standards and being recognized in many countries, including Vietnam.
In 2022, UEH successfully accredited 05 training programs (Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Business, Real Estate and Accounting) and granted educational facilities in accordance with FIBAA standards. With these positive results, in 2023, UEH will continue to carry out the first accreditation of 04 training programs and re-accreditation of 04 training programs recognized by FIBAA for the 2017 – 2022 period.
FIBAA has established 3 groups of experts to evaluate documents and evaluate these externally. During the period from June 6 to June 7, 2023, UEH organized to welcome a delegation of FIBAA experts to on-site evaluate the quality of training programs. After the results of the external evaluation, on September 20, 2023, the FIBAA Accreditation and Certicification Committee met for the 11th time and officially announced the decision to recognize the quality of 04 programs. UEH’s first accreditation training program, valid from September 20, 2023 to September 19, 2028 (5 years), includes:
1. Bachelor of Auditing Training Program - Faculty of Accounting;
2. Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Training Program - Faculty of International Business - Marketing;
3. Bachelor of Economic Law Training Program - Faculty of Law;
4. Bachelor of International Business Law Training Program - Faculty of Law.
Decision to recognize the quality of first-time accreditation regarding UEH’s 04 training programs
Concurrently, FIBAA Accreditation and Certification Council also recognized the re-accreditation of 04 training programs, valid from September 14, 2022 to September 13, 2029 (7 years), including:
1. Master of Applied Economics Training Program - Vietnam - Netherlands Joint Program;
2. Bachelor of International Business Training Program - Faculty of International Business - Marketing;
3. Bachelor of Business Administration (Bachelor of Talent) Training Program - International School of Business;
4. Master of Business Administration Training Program - International School of Business.
Quality accreditation of re-accreditation for UEH’s 04 training programs
In particular, in this accreditation event, 03 re-accredited training programs of UEH achieved 6 over 54 criteria exceeding quality requirements. Particularly, the Master of Applied Economics program - Vietnam - Netherlands Joint Program achieved 12/54 exceeding criteria. The two training programs Economic Law and International Business Law have 3 criteria that exceed quality requirements. The two training programs Auditing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management have 01 criterion that exceeds quality requirements. Prior to 2023, UEH will have a total of 13 training programs that have met European standards - FIBAA, in addition to a number of programs that have met Asian Quality Standards AUN-QA.
Notably, all criteria under Standard No. 4 “Academic environment and framework conditions” (including criteria groups: Teaching staff, Program management, Cooperation and partnerships, Facilities Quality, Student Services) and Standard No. 5 “Quality assurance and training records” all meet and exceed quality requirements. This indicates that UEH has ensured an academic environment and overall quality for all of the University’s training programs.
FIBAA accreditation results in accordance with European standards in 2023 have continued to affirm the training quality of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) achieved the basic standards of the European higher education system, continuing to maintain and to promote its achievement of being the first higher education unit in the country to achieve international accreditation at the FIBAA-level. This further proves the correctness of the internationalization strategy and specific steps in the roadmap to improve quality and seriously implement quality accreditation of training programs to bring the best products for learners and society.
In the 2024 – 2025 period, UEH is to carry out quality accreditation of training programs, moving towards completing 100% accreditation of University-level training programs. From 2026 onwards, UEH will carry out accreditation of training programs at Master and Doctoral levels as well as re-accredit those already-accredited training programs at the educational institution level.
