This May, English Zone offers students a stress-free and fulfilling experience throughout the hectic final exam period by providing them with a consistent schedule of activities that is continuously updated. Let's take a look at the highlights of this May with UEH English Zone!
Start May off learning how Gen Z uses words to express their style and personalities by enrolling in Speaking Group Extended: The Magic of Words. The program will assist you in staying up to date on and engaging in conversation about the most popular Gen Z slangs. It was also the intention of the Speaking Group Extended: Light the Night session to help you comprehend the differences between "night owl" and "early bird" and how they enjoy the nightlife.
To create a space where students could share their individual experiences and gain an overview, the School of Foreign Languages and UEH English Zone collaborated to organize ECOFF #40 VIRAL TALK. Through a lively, virtual free-talk format, participants created memories and interesting stories about trending topics.
Beyond anticipation, the UEH English Zone's DIY activities received a great deal of love. Students collaborated to create beautiful origami related to mothers with the "Ori-mami" Mother's Day theme. During the conversation, everyone can share their memories, childhood tales, and expressions of gratitude to their mother.
To prepare for a great summer, UEH English Zone hosted an event with the theme "Beat the Heat!" With fashion show, beach costume wear, and costume-related presentations were all opportunities afforded to UEH students. All participants enthusiastically engaged in this fascinating event. Students who participate in UEH English Zone not only improve their English speaking skills but also have the opportunity to socialize, make new friends, and unwind after a long day of studying.
Even though it is exam stress month, EZ Talks & EZ Boardgame, one of English Zone's staple events, is still drawing a sizable crowd of students every Tuesday and Friday. Brain-twisting board games like Virus!, The Resistance, Uno Flip, and Exploding Kittens still keep the heat alongside other minigames. In order to help attendees expand their vocabulary and develop their skills more fully, EZ Talks in May focused on sustainable development themes like "Sustainable Oasis" and "Balanciaga". Participants are able to discuss the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and share their thoughts on topics that are healing, such as finding a way to balance work and life.
May was a really meaningful and exciting month at UEH English Zone. Follow the to find out when the next English events at UEH!
