The College of Economics, Laws and Government (CELG) would like to announce a special talk with the Vice Mayor of Rotterdam - Mr. Vincent Karremans, on the occasion of his working visit to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in early June 2024. The special talk with UEH students titled "From studies to success: Charting your career path" was initiated by the Rotterdam Mayor's office to be coordinated with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).
Choosing a career after graduating is always one of the top concerns of new graduates. In addition to the factor of finding a job compatible with the students’ chosen major, finding a suitable job which allows opportunities for advancement and personal development is also important for newly graduates. Coming to this special talk, students will be able to participate in a direct discussion with Mr. Vincent Karremans about their concerns and worries in the process of preparing themselves for work after graduation. As well, this special talk session promises to give students more insight into the labor market as well as useful tips on choosing a sustainable career path.

About the Presenter:
Mr. Vincent Karremans is the Deputy Mayor of Rotterdam and is responsible for Enforcement, Public Spaces and Transportation. In addition to being the Vice Mayor of Rotterdam, he co-founded and successfully runs an international online career platform called Magnet.me that helps students connect with potential employers as well as opening up career opportunities for students.
He has also been a member of the City Council since 2018 and his work involves resolving problems related to safety and crime prevention. As well, Mr. Vincent Karremans volunteers for Erasmus MC and is Chairman of the ‘AYA task force’ there. This group of experts commits to improving informal care for young cancer patients.
